Families Play Safe in the Sun Coast-to-Coast!
JOIN THE GRAND FINALE!

As a grand finale to our 3-year Families Play Safe in the Sun Campaign, we would like our 15th event to take place in YOUR city!

THE GOAL: To ensure that at least one Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS) member in each of the 50 states offers a sun safety educational outreach in their community by the end of the second week of May, 2008.

In effect, we will stage a united volunteer effort to promote sun safety in a grassroots way, tapping into WDS membership in communities all across the USA! International members are invited to participate as well.

HOW: The WDS will help you make this happen!

It’s easy to become involved!

One member or a team of dermatologists can select a venue to present a sun safety educational talk. Ideas include:
  • Classroom or school assembly
  • Community organizations such as Rotary Club, or Lion’s Club,
  • Youth organizations such as Boys & Girls Club, YMCA, or Boy/Girl Scouts.
  • Member’s choice

The emphasis is on sun safety education, so there will not be a screening component as previous events have included.

Just follow these simple steps to get started:

  1. Fill out the Coast-to-Coast Participation - Deadline Extended to May 1- Sign-up Today! (Form Available Online - Click Here)
  2. Watch for our downloadable sun safety educational tool kit which will help you plan and present a successful outreach event--coming soon to the WDS website!
  3. Once your event is scheduled, let us know about your specific needs and we will provide you with educational supplies and materials in a customized Sun Safety Education Kit for distribution at your event.
